U.S. Treasury Department Ordering Survival Kits
Isn’t it funny that the government tries to convince us preppers are nut cases, but then they go to the trouble of setting up a comprehensive website (ready.gov) that tells people how to prepare for different disasters? And isn’t it funny that the government paints survivalists as dangerous whackos, but then orders thousands of survival kits for government employees?
Deep down, the government knows preparing for an uncertain future is an intelligent thing to do, but they want people to do it on their terms. Why? It’s like everything else. They want to control it. There’s something else they know. They know civil unrest is coming. They might not know exactly what will cause it – it could be an EMP or natural disaster or a food shortage or a financial meltdown – or exactly when it will happen, but they know it’s on the horizon and they want to be as prepared for it as possible.
That has to be one of the reasons the U.S. Treasury Department recently went to a lot of effort and expense to make sure its 3,814 employees all have survival kits. The kits will be delivered to major banks throughout the country.
These kits include a 33-piece personal first-aid kit, a reusable solar blanket, a 2,400- calorie food bar, 50 water purification tablets, a dust mask, a poncho, a rechargeable lantern with a built-in radio, and an Air-Aid emergency mask for protection against airborne viruses.
Does the Treasury Department believe there will be a run on banks at some point in the near future and that their employees will need to shut the doors and lock themselves away for a while until federal troops arrive? Why do you think this is happening? I’d love to hear your opinion about it.
One problem for most people right now is money–it is hard to afford all the things to live each day AND store for an emergency but do it a little at a time–yhe 25 year storage food is expensive but every time you get a chance get a one month supply and store it–you will get it built little by little–also what I do for now is buy canned food on sale–look at the dates on can–most stuff is good for around 2-3 years–I buy things uou like-corn-beans.etc–every month store it up and just like a grocery store ROTATE your stock=oldest in front-newest to rear–key is don’t let it go bad–I been doing this about 2 years and time will sneak up on you–keep track of it–EAT it before it expires-since it’s getting cold now I just went thru mine and made a nice crockpot of vegetable soup with cans close to date–also at the dollar store I have some stuff you don’t want everyday but has long life–corned beef-spam–sardines ,etc–cheap with long life–again-don’t buy stuff that is so bad you wont eat-but you know in survival if you hungry you’ll eat those crappy sardines and potted meat-
Talk with your family members, close and far away. Have a meeting place for everyone to meet. Start gathering necessary items to survive, water (or purification items) being number 1. Humans can go without food, but not water. Check this website and other Survival websites because what the govt gave out is just the beginning – there’s so much more you are going to need…like toilet paper. Yes, unless you are muslim and use your left hand to, well you know what…wipe.
After several major emergencies with the people looking to the Government for help and guidance, has the Government painfully become aware of their short comings. The various disaster agencies have fallen flat on their faces, FEMA, EPA, the Red Cross and others just to name a few. FEMA failed those that were stranded in New Orleans due the floods and hurricane Katrina. The Red Cross failed several times, especially after 9/11. They collected millions upon millions of dollars for this disaster in New York only to find out that they were padding their own bank accounts. Not only during this disaster but all of the disasters. The Red Cross has been caught with their hands in the ole cookie jar. As for the EPA, well, they told the people in New Orleans that the earthen works would hold therefore total evacuation wasn’t necessary. If they were scared they could hang out at the super dome until it was safe to return home. This was a disaster in the making. No one realized that these people would spend up to two weeks at the super dome with no food, lights, medicine, no safety or security during the hurricane Katrina. So what happened? President Bush was caught with his thumb up his – you know where and he didn’t do anything to help evacuate the people or supply them with the above mentioned goods. He didn’t even mobilize the National Guard or Army Reserve to assist. These military units have the equipment and experience but President Bush was told that they were not necessary for a in-country disaster. He was told to let FEMA and Homeland Security deal with it. What a cluster F@#k that turned out to be. What it all boiled down to is money. Louisiana would be eligible for disaster relief funds. These funds went into someone’s pocket because it sure as hell didn’t reach the people that were truly affected by the disaster. The Governor of Louisiana definitely told President Bush that the state didn’t need his help. When the state of Louisiana and FEMA failed to maintain their responsibilities that it was then that the Government realized that they too needed to prepare for a disaster on an individual basis. They no longer have K-rations and MRE’s are hard on the digestion, required lots of water and they were becoming extremely expensive to purchase; so the government began to looked to the preppers and see if they can raid their food storage supplies by handing out contracts to authorize the government to move to the head of the line to fill their orders first and foremost. It is easy to call someone crazy until you discover that they were correct and doing what was need to be done in the first place. Unfortunately, if these people don’t prepare for themselves and their families; then those that did save and prepare just don’t have enough to carry those that didn’t. Even when the Government passed a law stating that they have the right to take anything and everything from anyone and everyone to be redistributed. It is like taking candy from a baby. The only difference is it will be legal. You won’t hear from those that don’t have anything standing up for you or your rights when they know that they are going to get your goods and supplies courtesy of your Government.
The only solution, the best solution is to prepare and keep your personal habits to yourself. Keep your own council and trust only a select few. You don’t tell people how much money you have on you; so why tell people that you are preparing for a disaster with food and supplies.
Cliff, Bush could not intervene until the State ASKED for Federal help.
I thought
I have no doubts regarding this eventuality. The govt. Is in preparation mode as.we.read. This era of.depression will happen sooner than later sure as.California.is.in drought. I have encouraged family and friends.to get a.plan together and fill any voids now or pay dearly later. People are.counting on the govt but this is not likely to happen. When people deli,e.there is.no.rescue then the.unrest, riots.and crime waves will ensue. Get ready while time is ticking or.your.family will.be on the OUTSIDE looking IN at those who did.prepare. My credentials are as follows-// Seen over a dozen countries first hand and how their govts functioned.. 30 years experience and training as a member of an Elite Govt. Agency. Do your planning NOW! Survive later…
Dear Frank,
One more sign the government knows a major disaster and social melt down is imminent. Maybe not today, tomorrow or next year, but they know it is coming eventually.
