3-year-olds are still safe from government’s reach…for now.
Here’s a question for you. When was the last time you heard about a new idea coming out of the government that did NOT involve taking away one of your rights? I think we’d all be hard pressed to come up with one. Think about it. When was the last time a Congressman or our President came up with something that actually broadened your rights as a citizen rather than continuing to chip way at those rights?
The latest concept I’m hearing about – and you will hear about it soon if you haven’t already – is something called universal preschool. It’s actually an international movement with the goal of making access to preschool education available to all families (just like K-12 is now), rather than only to those who can afford it.
Like many governmental plans, it’s one of those things that sounds good until you dig deeper into it. In fact, I can just hear one of our government leaders saying, “Now remember, guys, whenever we try to take away our citizens’ rights, we have to do it in a manner that will make it seem like we’re helping them and making their lives better. Most of them are too stupid to know that we’re actually strengthening our grip on them.”
Right now in the U.S., the closest thing we have to universal preschool is the $8 billion-a-year Head Start program, administered by the Department of Health and Human Services. It’s currently limited to people at a certain poverty level, but as 44th President Obama said in 2012 at his State of the Union address, he wanted to make high quality preschool available to every single child in America.
When the government says it wants to make something “available,” that’s when you know that it’s the next step on the way to making it “mandatory.” And why not? That one year could be critical to molding the minds of children to what the government wants them to think and believe, rather than the way their parents want to influence them.
If you believe that preschool is helpful for youngsters, do you believe it should be mandatory prior to entering kindergarten? Please let me know what you think.
More cradle to grave “entitlements” with the onus on citizen taxpayers to pay for more government overreach.
If alot of GOD fearing, true believing Christian people would get together and do what Joshua did with his people who fought the battle of Jericho, and “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and turn from their wicked ways and seek my face and pray than will I heal there land”. Than and only than will we defeat these bureaucrats
I have watched the Head Start program for YEARS, and its a free baby sitting services for lower income families, yes some use that time to better themselves with a job or an education. but most use it for more time for the parents to be at home doing as little as possible & not looking to improve themselves. And yes I this it is another way to make people dependent on the government and the kids learn that very quickly too.
Follow the money!!…This country was built into the richest and most powerful country in the world when school boards were a county controlled function made up of local parents of the school kids. Then, along came the government who said “we will send you plenty of money if you will just follow our plans and guide lines.” Of course money talks and the people answered, thank you, as they allowed the government to take over the schools. As is everything else, when money is injected into the scenario, it all turns to schit. As long as the people continue to sell their control to the government for federal funds, they will have to accept the responsibility for whatever happens to their kids.
The Supreme Court blew it when they ruled that the utmost private concern of a family was education but………that schools acted as parents In loco parentis was the absolute worse thing to come out of that court. So now parents are dead beats and no nothings that need the state to raise the children into model citizens. Until we electors get them to write law throwing out the courts interpretation, we are doomed.
The purpose of a true education is to teach a child to assume the responsibility of thinking for himself. The purpose of a totalitarian government is to enslave a non-thinking populace. Even the animal kingdom demonstrates the instinct of parents to keep the young ones at their side until they are old enough and strong enough to take care of themselves. The slavers are now so entrenched in our government, I wonder if anything short of a warring revolution can overthrow them. Oh, that’s right, they already took your gun, and more importantly, your ammunition away. So goes the nation and the nation’s children.
keep your hands off our kids.the schools suck now,it’s time we all stood up to say NO;;;take our freedom back…….
I work for a preschool. They are now putting 2 and 3 yr. old children in. I feel like we are baby sitters now. When preschool came to our area at first, the child had to be 4 yrs old they had to be potty trained, count to 10., know their ABC’s. and have some speech, hearing, or attention problems. everything has changed. IT SHOULDN’T BE MANDATORY!
I don’t know if it still is, but Head Start was woefully mismanaged years ago. They didn’t keep track of their bank accounts, and just like the park service, there was money there when they were saying they were running out of funds. That being said, as a single mom raising a child I would have loved it if pre-school had been available instead of leaving my child all day with a neighborhood baby-sitter because I couldn’t afford the pre-schools.
I didn’t see it mentioned yet, so I will. Regardless of whether or not making this “available” leads to mandatory anything, where isthe money for this program coming from? We are 17trillion in debt, our education system is having funding cut all over the place, but somehow the country can afford to do this?
Also, our education scores/ranking vs the rest of the world is not even close to the top. Why don’t we focus on improving what is already there and stop trying to add new programs that the government, or should I say, the people, can’t afford.
Government (regardless of who) should be concerned with the Constitution (keeping it intact) and leaving the children to the state and their parents (this being 1st).
Government is butting in where they have no right. Hitler was always taking picture with children to fool the people into thinking he was “the one”. Look at where Germany ended up.
Tyranny always start with children and reeducation . Our children are the spoils of war ! It will take a tremulous amount of sacrifice to keep our children away from these wolves . We have used these schools as babysitters .
We need to learn from history…ww2. We need to hang onto our kids like a mama bear and never let them enter any door that looks like a sneaky snake is on the other side…otherwise it may just bite them and you could lose your kids.
Fred,
After the end of WWII, world leaders were driven by FEAR of nuclear annihilation to
1. Form a one-world government
2. Hide energy in cores of
_ A. Heavy atoms like uranium
_ B. Some planets like Jupiter
_ C. Ordinary stars like the Sun
_ D. Galaxies like the. Milky Way
Some climate scientists are now admitting the sensitivity of Earth’s climate to CO2 was overestimated.
Regretfully, the root problem is not sensitivity of Earth’s climate to CO2, but sensitivity of the entire solar system to the Sun’s pulsar core that gave it birth:

PROVERBS 22:6 … “Train up a child in the way he should go: And when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Who will define “the way he should go” ? The president has some ideas and wants us all to give him the chance to begin to train HIS doctrine to EACH “child.”
I think the author of Proverbs never had to deal with a rebellious teenager.
That author probably DID have to deal with one or more rebellious teenagers, but he knew how to deal with that problem MUCH more effectively than modern day parents, as in, “Spare the rod and spoil the child.”
So God doesn’t know about the very children he created??
dejavu!! THIS IS WHAT HITLER DID TO THE SCHOOL SYSTEM DURING NAZI GERMANY. HE HAND PICKED CERTAIN KIDS THAT WOULD MAKE UP HIS SUPER HUMAN RACE. I THINK IT’S GOOD FOR KIDS TO BE IN PRESCHOOL. NOT UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE GOVERMENT.
This is how Communism starts. Start them out young. Like those famous words that came out of Barack’s mouth to Putin. When I’m reelected I’ll have more flexibility. Anything to make people mad, or hurt them, and cost this country a lot of money, that’s him. He is no more qualified to be President than a dead horse. HE’s never been anything but a community organizer, (trouble maker). We need to stop complaining of what he is doing to us, and get on Congresses butt, and impeach this mad man. I don’t know why congress don’t talk about it. They sure talk about all the illegal things he’s doing. It’s like a snake, cut it’s head off, it sure stops a lot of problems. Now more than ever, we have got to teach the morals that has left so many families. Wake up America, while we can still call her that. We can beat these Godless people. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
Rod, I agree, something must be done about government in Washington. There are more of them than just ob who should be impeached or fired from their jobs for their incompetence or outright socialist/communist behavior. I concur with your assessment regards to the current morality in our country. GOD has been taken out of our government and we are being lead by the MAD HATTER!
This pre-school smacks of Hitler’s Youth program. Little ones were forced into his control program. And we know how many people died because of him.
You’re right about the “Dead Horse Bit” BUT the reason we can’t get Congress to talk is because they are all in on it! These 2 groups, “Reps’ & Dems'” have had control for 150+ years now & what do we have to show for it?? ANSWER: Nothing!! They’ve ALL been Bought & Paid For by Big Business, Rich 1%, And some
Foreign Nations for all we know because the deep pockets are NEVER Accounted for so we really don’t know whom is buying into out Congress. The Nevada
man & his cattle, Americans can’t use OUR Lands to camp, Hike, or use. That’s aganda21 & Frderal Government Employees Have Voted with the United Nations on these issues. THAT’s Treasonous ACTS, All of Which Undermine our US Constitution & Bill of Rights. This is TREASON!! Prosecute Those who have Voted against our Country & our Fundamentals. Hillary Voted to take away small weapons by Treaty thru United Nations Treaties! That’s NOT Legal!! She & All who’ve VOTED against this Nation, should be charged & prosecuted for Treason against the US Charter, our Constitution/Bill of Rights & that’s the bottom line….WE MUST STOP THEM. IT’s already stated by blocking us from our own country for use of
campouts, fishing, or cows grazing. Someone voted to outlaw it & it’s been done outside our people or congress. IT’s NOT LEGAL to do THIS AND WE MUST STAND UP TO IT, Now else we’ll lose all rights. Don’t lie down & die because THEY BROKE the LAW!!!! DO Something America, NOW’s THE TIME to ACT upon this assault upon our Nation & People of this Nation!
I believe a parent is the best person to decide on their child’s readiness for entering preschool. I support and do believe in preschool, however every child is different. My first born was a typical healthy, rambunctious little fellow. For him I chose a co-op preschool where I participated to see his social readiness for Kindergarten. My second born I chose a Tuesday -Thursday program that focused on academic readiness because she was showing me an eagerness to read, write and count etc. We enrolled our son in a private Kindergarten because he needed more one on one. Most of us as parents want what is best for our children, no one should think they know better how to direct a family. I know of two home school situations where in both cases the children are far above the children in public schools, and private schooled children I know rank about the same. I believe citizens should have more input on the curriculum our now public schools provide, when we can get that straightened out then maybe give parents a tax credit or voucher if THEY choose to enroll a child in preschool, not all children are ready for kindergarten let alone preschool. Kudo’s to home schooler’s your children truly have the advantage of learning true values.
Hi Holly, My wife and I both agree with you with respect to parents know best as to how to handle schooling for our children. It amazed us as to how many parents lack interest in the education of their children; this being evident in the fact that when there was open school or parents night, only one other parent attended besides my wife and myself. The teacher spoke very candidly to the three of us saying she couldn’t understand why none of the other parents came to school to see how their children were doing; it seems like no-one cares about their children anymore. The teacher was almost in tears. It truly is a shame. My wife and I traveled throughout the rest of the school checking the other classrooms. There were only one or two classrooms that had more than five or six people in them… Makes you wonder why our country is in the trouble it is in today.
Holly, I am raising my 10 year old granddaughter. Her mom left when she was four. They had lived with me up until that time. I schooled her before kindergarten. I was not interested in the state run preschool and since I had teaching experience (many years ago) I used a wonderful curriculum designed by BrainQuest. It was a voluntary play time for her. We got out the materials, and I read a question. If she answered it correctly, we jumped up and down and cheered. Then I would act like I was going to put it away. She always begged for more questions. Imagine, a four year old sitting for two and three hours, asking for more schooling. She was fast tracked into the gifted program the first week of kindergarten. And has been loving it ever since. I wish I could go back to teaching but the pay is awful.
All of these comments are right on. Indoctrinate the children at a young age and we will have a country run by people who are not God fearing, moral, honest and so on. Wake up, People. Children will be turned against their parents just like Al Gore stated to chldren that they knew more than their parents. It has started already. It is a good thing I didn’t have a child in that school. The principal and others would be looking for work.
I agree, even in the 60’s my father saw it coming with us. “Government is brainwashing our children and filing their heads with propaganda to turn them against their parents, teaching a parents knowledge is not creditable.”
Children have no business in a government school of any kind.
Government should not be in the education business
at all.
If it were not a government program but a voluntary community funded and backed “pre-school” it would be a good idea to help kids intellectually as well as socially BUT:
Since it is government the only reason for it is to “mold the minds of children to what the government wants them to think and believe, rather than the way their parents want to influence them.”
It’s all about mind control…..
Schools are no longer institutions of learning. Kids today go to school to be indoctrinated, not educated. When I attended school, I actually was taught something. Today kids are not really being taught. The public school system is a joke, a rather bad joke. If you can afford to send your kids to a private school, they may actually learn something. America, sheeple, you need to wake up. Stop being brainwashed by your ESPN, morally compromised sitcomes, and ridiculous reality shows, and start educating yourselves about what is really going on with your rights and what is left of your freedoms, before it is too late, and it is almost too late now. WAKE UP!!!!
I have experience with both public, private, boarding, religious and home schooling…I have been to all of those and homeschooled my youngest son to prevent harassment from school officials…he was still subject to standaridized testing, by law…when he went and did his required testing, he said most of the kids didn’t even finish the tests and seemed to have great difficulty with what seemed simple to him…he finished all of his test extremely fast and several of the kids asked if he was going to even do the tests…he responded “Do them? Finished them! How far have you gotten?” A couple of them hadn’t even answered the first few questions and most of them didn’t complete any of the tests…why?…because they were home schooled by unqualified teachers: their parents…I was no more qualified to home school my child than the next person…so I enrolled him in a private, online K-12 school that met the standards for all 50 states…he not only passed all of his tests, but scored extremely high…I felt sorry for those kids that were struggling that day to take those tests…
I take issue with the following statement: What in the world has happened to people these days, not even wanting to be responsible for their own flesh and blood?? Well, I don’t know!…why don’t you ask all of these men that “love ’em and leave ’em”!…I took care of my kids without public assistance, while working two jobs, with no child support…stop blaming the Moms for the state of the world and start holding the men responsible, as well…it takes two…this country has been in a sorry state since the late 50’s when people decided they didn’t need to stay married any more and that rather than work through things together…they just throw it all away and move on to someone else and Americans found/find that acceptable…we’ve been leaving our children behind for a very long time now…time to “man up” or shut up!…
Thank you, very well stated. I agree with your statement. There is, also the laziness and entitlement factor. GOD teaches us it is our duty to educate our children in Christ Jesus and all with the wisdom that is given us by GOD.
May GOD bless you and your family.
Selina, you do not have to have a teaching degree to be an excellent teacher. I actually was a teacher many years ago and have both homeschooled my granddaughter and augmented her public school education with my own brand of teaching, especially when she has come home a little confused because the teacher did not let her ask a question. I stayed married even though we are pretty incompatible. He was always the better breadwinner. I do own a small company and have a decent income but when my kids were small, I sacrificed everything to stay home with them. And don’t get me started on standardized tests…my granddaughter’s school just spent the last three weeks preparing for the CRCT. Not learning anything, just learning how to take a test. There were online sample tests they could take for practice. Where has real teaching gone? If they were teaching the stuff, the kids would do well on the tests. They even had an after school program to coach kids on how to do well on the tests. What a crock!
Our children are better off, if we just keep the Government out of their Lives altogether. Home Schooling Yeah.
Home schooling is a very good option. Many people are doing this today. How long are we going to let a foreign immigrant who stole an election continue to take away rights afforded to by our Creator???
It is time in this country to peacefully stand up in this country. This fourth of July organize people from every state, to march into D.C. and keep marching there until we get every right back! If we can get 3 or more million people to do this, on the fourth or earlier, something must be done!
All of us lazy __s sitters that keep complaining, but do nothing are the reason this is happening.
Get up clog the phones of all senate and house. Until they are so sick of hearing us that they either resign or do the job the were elected to do which is serve the American public.
If the government gets a hold of our children early in their childhood it will be much easier to indoctrinate them to whatever standards the government wants them to have. The younger a child is the more impressionable their brains are….I wouldn’t even put it past ‘this’ administration to try and turn the children against their parents and their beliefs. Just as sad as that is, I also believe that a large portion of the population would welcome having the child out of the home that early in life. There are a lot of sorry mothers out there who would just as well have someone else raise their children just as long as they get that “check’. What in the world has happened to people these days, not even wanting to be responsible for their own flesh and blood??We are in a sorry state of affairs in America….mentally, emotionally, and spiritually ………I would imagine that God is getting pretty impatient with us, and we will truly ‘reap what we sow’………
I find it interesting that the only societies interested in taking children away from their families at an early age were those interested in controlling the populace and treating their civilians like slave labor. Think the Soviet Union, Cuba, Nazi Germany……need I say more.
Our public school system is terrible and Obama wants to expand it. Great. If you want to realize how bad our school system really is just watch the documentary “The War on Kids” on Netflix.
