Doomsday Clock Is Ticking
Be perfectly silent for a moment. Can you hear that ticking sound? If so, it might be the Doomsday Clock established decades ago by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. The purpose of the clock is to warn humanity how close it is to losing the only planet we
know of that can support life.
The Bulletin was established by former Manhattan Project physicists after the atomic bombing of Japan. Way back when, the clock was set at seven minutes before midnight. Just recently it has moved to three minutes to midnight. And that means, according to Kennette Benedict, executive director of the Bulletin, “the probability of global catastrophe is very high.”
The folks who run the Bulletin still list the world’s 16,300 known nuclear weapons as the most likely cause of a potential global catastrophe. This could occur through an all-out war between two or more nuclear powers, the accidental launching of one or more nuclear weapons, or an attack by a rogue nation or individual terrorists.
But they also acknowledge that a global catastrophe could be the result of extreme weather events, pandemics or other manmade or natural disasters. The point is, they believe the world is as close as it’s ever been to experiencing an event that could kill billions of people and change life as we know it on planet Earth. Forever.
Now, I don’t know if something that catastrophic will occur during our lifetimes. But I know one thing for certain. At least some of us and possibly all of us will be negatively affected by some kind of disaster in the future and will find ourselves needing food, water and other necessities. So, I’ll say what I’ve said countless times. Be prepared. Whether you collect your own supplies or purchase them from a preparedness company, get ready for a crisis. And do it now before it’s too late.
Here’s a great question to ask yourself. Am I prepared for a disaster that would involve me taking care of my needs and those of my family for one year without any outside help? If not, now is the time to put yourself in that position. Doing that will provide you
with a wonderful thing called peace of mind…no matter what time the Doomsday Clock says it is.

The unprepared welfare state 47% will be the ones that “welcome ” the concentration camps, believing the Government will take good care of them. The prepared will be left to stand against whatever enemy showing his ugly head. No, we don’t know how or when, I do believe the where is right here in our backyard. Being prepared is key to survival.
Obama has created his “change” that he promised, but our country has been changing for decades. One of the biggest changes was under President Roosevelt when Social Security was set in motion. It is just another tax.

Having served our nation in the Marine Corps (1964-70) with 19 months in Vietnam (K 3/4 1966), I used to be proud of my service. I still am but am not proud of the nation I once served due to political malfeasance. LBJ had no strategy to win in Vietnam but created a welfare state called The Great Society and funded it by moving Social Security from a trust fund into the General Fund. We have a 47% entitlement nation today. I do exempt those of us who are too old to work and drawing SS as well as those of us who are disabled (DAV) for whatever reason. But, no verification process in place.
Obama has created a federal empire with a monarch mentality. His legion of worshipers lack the intelligence to see down the road this will lead just as their parents did in 1968. The hippies are in charge of the bank and the results are exactly what we knew they would be in 1968.
My only fight next time will be to defend my family and myself from any enemy, foreign and domestic.
Semper Fi Justin, The Department of Homeland Security cannot protect us from what is going to happen to this nation. All you have to do is read history to read the life cycle of nations. Those of us whose values built this nation to greatness must stand firm.
Justin, you say that we have 47% entitlement pulling funds from the Government. This is nothing to the temperament of the people in this country that feels that they are in fact entitled. They feel so strongly about their self entitlement that they will do nothing to save themselves from any catastrophic disaster, natural or man made. This in itself gives me cause to question the rational of this sentiment held by so many Americans. Is it that they are naturally stupid or were they trained to believe that the Government will throw on their Superman Suit and Cape and come save the day? Perhaps the people expect that the Cavalry will come charging over the hill in the nick of time to save them. Remember Hurricane Katrina? It took the Government 6 weeks to send help. In fact, it took 8 weeks after the fire in the Oakland, California for word to be received that FEMA will be releasing Government back funds and loans to rebuild all of those homes destroyed by that fire. I guess it was a good thing no one was holding their breath for this kind of help. So much for being entitled, huh.
When a catastrophic disaster does occur, just remember this, the first responder to a disaster will be you and it will be up to you to be prepared for it. So don’t delay being prepared for a catastrophic disaster; rather than sit on your backside waiting for the Government to come to your rescue, because you will have a very long time to wait and your family will be counting on you.
For those of you that have experienced the recent floods or last year blizzards I would really love to hear how you dealt with your predicaments. So post your comments and share your experiences so that the rest of us can see through your eyes what errors, mistakes or successes you had.
They are both stupid and reilly on the Gov. But mostly they refuse to believe that anything bad will happen. This is America, we don’t need to worry. Ya, right.
I have two honorable discharges, one from the Marine Corps and one from the Navy. I also have over 30 years of police service. I have given most of my life to protecting our country and fellow Americans and it scares me to death of where our country is headed. The American Dream is of the past and survival is paramount now to live in this country and the world. I just shake my head in disbelief of what we are doing to each other and how much hate is out there. TICK, TICK, TICK. As captain Hook looked over his shoulder he could see two yellow eyes gleaming in the darkness. Captain Hook knew that it was that old crocodile that ate his hand. It tasted so good the old crocodile is following him to eat the rest.
Like Captain Hook that old crocodile isn’t far behind us, one and all. Ever since the first caveman with a rock attacked another that was holding a stick has the Atomic clock began to tick away. I always believe, “Don’t worry about that which you have no control over but do prepare for what may come.” Have I saved and prepared for a years worth of SHIT? NO. I don’t think very many of us can say that. There are items that I will need and there are items that I will not. Preparing will be an ongoing thing. I will be training with the equipment that I have. I will be looking to replace my old stuff as it becomes obsolete and maintaining my equipment as the years pass by. More importantly, I try to pass my knowledge along to my family and they in turn to their families. We are in this together and we must act like a team if we are to survive whatever comes our way.
So let that old Atomic clock tick away; for that is what it does and no one will ever change that. Just don’t let that old crocodile sneak up on you while you are unprepared.
