How to Make Stew (Food4Patriots)
Everyone uses emergency food differently. Some people store it as soon as they get it. Some people use our delicious survival food for camping because making it is so easy… or they even use Food4Patriots meals as a quick snack or daily meal. But some customers like to taste it right away before deciding how much they want to order.
That’s why I’m going to show you how easy it is to make one of our most popular meals: the Food4Patriots Stew.
Take a look at the video below. Or just keep scrolling if you prefer to read instead of watch.
All you’ll need is one pouch of our Stew, water, pot, and whisk.
Optionally, you can serve this stew inside a scooped-out acorn squash instead of a regular bowl.
If you choose to use an acorn squash: chop off the top, scoop out the insides and rub with oil.
Put on a baking dish and bake in the oven for 45-60 minutes at 375 F. The inside should be soft when you poke it with a fork.
To make the Stew, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
Next, open the pouch and remove and throw away the oxygen absorber. Whisk in the entire contents of the pouch.
Boil for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Finally, simmer on low heat for between 12-15 minutes.
When done, you can pour it into your bowl or acorn squash and enjoy.
Mmmm.

Hi Frank
So far I am loving the food and the samples. I have a question will you ever have samples of your chicken and beef products. I would love to try before buying. The last package I ordered was the breakfast one and it took 2.5 weeks going back and forth with Canadian customs . I have 2 packs of 72 hour survival kits as well. I like to get the samples it helps me make decisions.
Thank you very much
Enjoying the products as well as stocking up. Just receiced the coffee I will be trying it soon.
Looking forward to the sample packs.
Regards
Karen Church.
I didn’t wait long enough for it to thicken up, so I started to improvise. It was very soupy (not so much stewy), so I added tomato paste and diced tomatoes (with diced chile). This made it like a minestrone and it turned out pretty good. After sitting for 15minutes or so, it became very thick, but still very good!
That looks like “Craisins” on top of the finished product. That is a great idea. Not enough is mentioned about “comfort foods”. I love beans and rice, but I cannot imagine eating plain beans and rice for months on end. Toppings like bacon bits, minced dried fruit, croutons, french-fried onions, craisins, and the like make excellent additions to a meal that otherwise would not be nearly as visually appealing. They also add that little “something extra” that makes a dish just a little bit better and less boring. Just remember to keep things things that will keep and won’t “go south” on you in a short amount of time, and store them properly.
Yes, I have tried the Traveler’s Stew and today my Grandson cooked the .creamy chicken/rice and we loved them both. My first order was one of the meaty beef packs and it was also delicious. Hope to try the fruit soon. The food is wonderful!!!
great idea, however, these easy methods will not be there, when the shtf.
You can use a buffet chaffing pan to boil water. The fuel burns clean and safe to use indoors.
