Where was Obama when I was trading baseball cards in the Sixties and Seventies?
Question: How many times does a president have to disrespect the Congress before those Congressmen and women step up to the plate and impeach him?
Answer: We may never know because our folks in Congress clearly don’t have the guts to do it. Either that or the Republicans are waiting until November to see if they’ll be able to gain a majority in the Senate.
Regardless, President Obama is continuing to disregard Congress in his decision making. The latest example is his recent trade of apparent deserter Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl for five high-ranking Taliban leaders – without notifying lawmakers in advance. These terrorists, who Arizona Senator John McCain says are “hell bent on killing Americans,” are extremely dangerous men who should never have seen the light of day again. And now they’re free to pursue their murderous dreams.
Even if I could come to grips with this prisoner trade, I’d still see it for what it is – Obama once again taking the law into his own hands. Why wasn’t Congress notified in advance about this possible trade and allowed to weigh in with its opinions? The Obama Administration apologized for not notifying the lawmakers, but it was a classic case of “I’d rather apologize later than ask permission before.”
While admitting that it’s possible that the five terrorists could now inflict harm on Americans, Obama says that we will be “keeping eyes on them.” Whew! What a relief. Maybe whenever Obama’s people take a break from spying on innocent Americans they can look for the five guys who are undoubtedly already plotting their evil deeds.
How did you feel about that prisoner trade? Do you think Obama should have asked Congress for the go-ahead first?
Obama was probabaly planning this even before he was president, he knows what the freeloaders and non news followers want to hear to get their votes, he knew how to plan ahead and bamboozle our elected senators and congressmen, he sure hoodwinked a lot of people and is still doing it…
yet our elected officials are too lazy to kick obamas butt and straighten him out, or get him out of there….Reid and Pelosi are the same,,,
Why would the President of the United States need to keep Congress informed on a trivial matter as prisoner exchange? He shouldn’t. Congress has proven time and rime again that they can’t keep their big mouth shut much less a secret.
So you’re up in arms about a release of 5 potential high-ranking Taliban leaders. First off, these so called Taliban leaders haven’t done anything that the US Government can hold them for. That is why the President allowed their release. Next, if these so called Taliban Leaders have a certain value, such as an exchange for America’s only prisoner of war, then why not use it. After all the Government was going to release these 5 Taliban leaders anyway.
You can’t condemn the President for doing his job if you are condemning him for not doing his job. Is this a case of damn if you do and damn if you don’t? I think so.
If you are quoting Senator John McCain, well, I wouldn’t believe him if his tongue came notarized by GOD himself.
You can lay blame on President Obama for a lot of things; but in this case, I believe you are barking up the wrong tree.
In this case the POTUS has every right to say what ever he wants about Congress. They do nothing and have not done a single thing. They will go down in the books as the worst in history!
