Roundup Linked to Cancer, But Monsanto Wants It in Your Food
We’ve known for quite some time now that Monsanto and other Big Agriculture companies are in bed with the U.S. government. Why else would the government allow these companies to genetically modify a significant percentage of the food we eat without more study to see if there are long-term negative effects?
One of Monsanto’s big products is Roundup, a weed killer that is applied to more than 150 food and non-food crops. The main ingredient in this product is glyphosate. In addition to its agricultural uses, glyphosate is used on lawns, gardens, and parks where children and pets play.
The big problem here is that glyphosate has been linked to cancer. And this isn’t the result of some obscure study where one in 5 billion people got cancer by eating food with traces of glyphosate in it. No, this is a situation in which the World Heath Organization (WHO) has declared that Roundup “probably” causes cancer.
While our government looks the other way, other governments are facing the issue head on. In Europe, for example, they have a zero tolerance policy. If a product is linked to cancer, then none of it is allowed to remain as residue on their food. It’s as simple as that.
But here’s how sick this whole thing has become in our country. Monsanto knows that glyphosate kills any plant it is used on, regardless of whether it’s a weed or a crop. That’s what Monsanto sells to farmers. But they also sell food such as corn and soy that has been genetically modified to be resistant to glyphosate.
So, not only is Monsanto selling genetically modified food that will do who knows what to us over time, but they’re also paving the way for farmers and others to use as much glyphosate as they want, despite the fact that the WHO claims it “probably” causes cancer.
Thanks, Monsanto. And thanks as well to the U.S. government, which is more concerned with Big Ag profits than it is with the health of its people.

I am thinkinI am thinking that the plot thickens even more…
Take Pollinators, Monsanto is in bed with Bayer, the makers of Neonics, a type of insidious pesticide which doesn’t breakdown fast in nature.
Neonic pesticides continue to kill wholesale for years and they’re discovering it everywhere… I think Monsanto is developing a pollenless, or
“non-pollinator required” and patented, non-seed producing, non-perenial, food crop plant that they’ll sell to farmers when most other crops
have failed because of pollinator loss!
Monsantos Pollen-less Seedless hybrid non perenial food crop conspiracy plot
I see a lot of claims and assumptions but no actual documentation. 2 years ago, the rumor that circulated as fact was that Roundup caused Autism. But, when all was said and done, there were a lot of claims and assumptions but no actual documentation. I would like to see some kind of proof that this is not “deja vu all over again”.
I just read where one of the European countries burned the corn fields. In India the farmers have been marching. I’ve joined protests against Monsanto, I’ve written my representatives and I’ve looked at sites that show who got the money.
The key word to this whole article is “probably” All the rest is speculation.
Vladimir Putin is 100x more American than my own president. As a veteran you can’t imagine how this makes me feel. He’s the Roosevelt of our time. …We NEED another Roosevelt!
Why are you getting so upset at the end products made from Monsanto? Monsanto makes genetic modified plants and seeds that are resistant to various things like drought, insects, pesticides and so on.
Who cares if the food doesn’t have the same good taste as their non-GMO cousins. Who cares that you can’t retain the seeds from these genetically engineered plants or be able to plant them for your own use for next years planting, forcing you to purchase more stock from Monsanto. It is a multi-billion dollar business. It is the American dream, to sell something where your customers are forced to come back to you to get new stock.
Monsanto said that their seeds and plants are just as good as the non-GMO seeds and plants. They say that there is no after effect to those that eat them. After all they have been around for about 15-to 20 years and in the third world countries they seem to survive on them O.K., so why not the citizens of the United States of America, after all we have the money. It isn’t like there are poisons within these plants or food sources. That these poisons are stored within the human body if you eat GMO plants or fruit, that Monsanto can or will admit to.
I mean, if Bayer AG is willing to buy Monsanto company for 62 BILLION dollars, Monsanto can’t be all that bad, can it? What does the makers of Bayer aspirin know that the rest of us don’t? I know that Monsanto company feels that it is worth more than 62 Billion dollars. They turned Bayer AG down, yet, they are still will to talk money and buyout with Bayer AG.
Look, all I know is that I like my food with a good, clean, fresh taste. I don’t like the idea that my seeds or plants are genetically altered in one form or another. I have tried eating some of these genetically engineered foods and I’m here to say that they just didn’t taste as good as the real deal. They were tough to bite into and tasteless. I would have been better off eating cardboard. It would have tasted a little bit better.
I don’t know about you, but, I like to collect the seeds from a good crop that I have grown myself and replant them for next year. I’m a bit stingy when it comes to buying something that I could have planted on my own with my own seeds. I hate to waste good money on seeds when I can get it from my own harvest. What about you? Do you have 3-10 dollars to pay for your plants for next year? What if you had a larger garden or a farm or ranch would it be right for you to spend hundreds of dollars for your plants?
I just don’t like it when someone goes around and monkeying around with something that works already. I don’t like it when I am forced to buy from someone that holds the monopoly on planting food for my self sustaining life style. I don’t mind hybrids; but GMOs? That is where I draw the line. I’ll be damn if I buy something that doesn’t taste good either. I like it natural, as GOD intended.
EVERY ONE has to blame their BAD LUCK on something or someone and if its a large co. the court systems allow it to go on and even grants them punitive damages WHY does anyone NOT believe they can just have bad luck or maybe GOD has another plan for them ! this Suing and the courts allowing it what is wrong with people
Utah State University developed a strain of tomatoes that are very hardy, very high in nutrients, disease resistant, and grow large, firm fruits that are delicious, and preserve well. I have taken seeds from them, and they grow new plants that are, as far as I can tell are identical to the parent plants. Have they developed a new HEIRLOOM variety??? Is that possible??? What about all the different breeds of dogs, horses, cattle, & ETC. Did someone in past history genetically modify all of them? Are they all GMO’s ? I AM NOT a fan of Monsanto & their practices; But, is it possible mankind has been doing the same things for GOOD, for centuries??? COMMENTS PLEASE!!!
You are confusing GMO with hybrids. GMO’s are when they introduce a organism into the plant that is not natural to it as where when they crossbred a plant it is with the same kind but not a different species like GMO.
The book, Altered Genes, Twisted Truth, by Steven M. Druker shows a fairly revealing and current uptake on the subject of GMO’s. I would suggest a look at this information.
Just about everything in large doses causes cancer nowadays. The rewards far outweigh the risks. Ask starving people in Somalia if they are concerned with eating GMO’s or glyphosate in their rice.
look at your dog food. and what the vet is giving your dog that’s the place to start.
How about providing some proof about your claims regarding gmos
Have you seen the rats that the French used for the GMO’s?
“sprays their yards regularly”? I don’t know why you would spray your yard with Roundup. It kills the grass. It also makes no sense if you are spot spaying weeds in the grass since it will kill the grass near the weed. This is not the proper use of this product. Begin with reading and following instructions then use a product with 2-4 D for killing weeds. Cancer is common with many dog breeds. Knee jerk reactions are often wrong.
Unfortunately Round up is allowed in the European Union. The Mosanto lobby is working perfectly well at the EU (Euroepan Uniion) parliament , unfortunately. Tony Blair, previously prime minister of the United Kingdom, was rumoured to have been a lucky recipient of a large sum of money to promote and allow the GMO seeds in the U.K. In France, since last year, the French farmers need to take a special course on the usage of pesticides and insecticides at the end of which they obtain a licence which allow them to spread the cancer-causing glyphosate, along with other dangerous pesticides and insecticides. Also, the French farmers are allowed to plant GMO seeds as long as they inform their local mayor… But in the majority of cases they avoid to comply with their legal requirement. But if you report to the media and the authorities that a farmer has not fulfilled his legal requirement to declare his GMO seeds you will most likely be arrested and do prison time. A member of the EU (European Union) parliament has often enough been arrested to vouch for the complicity between our governments and Mosanto which behaves deliberately to the detriment of our health and freedom of information.
I have been saying this for a long time. Practically everyone in my neighborhood sprays their yards regularly. I have had two dogs die from cancer at young ages. I personally stopped spraying my yard and won’t walk the dogs near the neighbors’ grass. I’d rather have a few weeds than risk the alternative.
This thing about GMOs desevers a lenghtier article and well researched.
