Will feds take their cue from Connecticut and try to launch national gun registration?
Not all dictators are created equal. They all use different methods to gain power and keep it. But one thing they all have in common is that one of their first acts is to disarm the public. Once the people are powerless to protect themselves, a dictator can reveal his full agenda with no fear of retribution.
Gun registration, which became the law in Connecticut on January 1, 2014, may not seem all that terrible on the surface, but it’s always the first step toward disarming the public. Once government officials know where every legally-owned gun is, what kind of gun it is and what kind of ammunition it uses, they can take the necessary steps to eventually confiscate those guns and ammo. And all the while they will tell you that they have no intention of taking away guns, but merely want to protect innocent citizens from harm.
The tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut, is what set this in play. Well-meaning but very misguided officials believe that taking guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens will end these types of horrific incidents. They never seem to take into consideration that the types of people who commit these horrible acts are not going to register their guns. So, taking guns out of the hands of the good guys only allows the bad guns more time to shoot up schools and malls before they are finally taken down.
You know what happens when a bad guy brandishes a weapon and starts trying to harm people in Israel? Armed good guys take them down, pronto. If the liberals think there is gun carnage in the U.S. now, just wait until law-abiding citizens no longer are able to own and carry guns that they can use to save innocent lives when a madman starts shooting.
Law-abiding gun owners in Connecticut know that this registration is unconstitutional, but they have little choice if they want to be in compliance with the law. Of course, they could refuse to obey what they feel is an unjust law, but there could be consequences to pay for that.
What would you do if your state passed a law that required all of your weapons to be registered with the government? Please weigh in on this very important issue.

You need to check what happened when Australia made people turn in their guns. over 640,000 firearms were turned in. First year results Australia-wide homicides up 6.2% assaults up 9.6%, Australia-wide armed robberies up 44%. This is from a police officer in Australia. In the state of Victoria homicides with firearms are now up 300%. Take this for what is worth.
Well I had all my guns stored at the camp but somebody burned my camps and I did not have the seriel Numbers wrote down so I don,t know what to do and I did not report it to the police what would they do just write a report been thru that nothing done there Period
UK – possession of handguns is illegal.
UK – over 2000 violent crimes per 100,000 people.
US – under 500 violent crimes per 100,000 people.
UK – now wants to outlaw pointed knives. So what next, outlaw pipes, clubs, hammers, screwdrivers????
How is it the people of any State, particularly if the majority are 2cd amendment advocates, allow their legislators to pass these confiscatory gun laws, without SERIOUS objection. Seems to me the People are being too complacent or simply not paying attention. The People of any State need to be more conscious of what “Their” elected legislators are doing and voice their opposition concerns before an issue such as that in Conn ever reach’s any vote. If it does get voted they need to be demanding repeal immediately.
What I find appalling is that the government and the liberal agenda always point to guns as an evil. I do believe it is their goal to disarm citizens. I am not a gun owner, but do support the rights of other to own guns. Maybe when my kids are older I would own one, but for now my choice for family safety is not to.
The tragic issue is that the crime against Sandy Hook and those poor kids could have occurred without guns. New Channel 8 reported that a small red house not far from the school had over 300 gallons of human urine in various containers. Most houses in Connecticut use fuel oil or it is easy to come by. The news article only ran once to my knowledge.
We all know what this spells if processed like the criminal Timothy McVey did when he blew up an entire building. The news reported it was abandoned some months and it was found in spring. Quite a coincidence.
There is no proof of it that has been aired officially, but I think that sick boy who perpetrated that crime had different plans in mind. Guns were secondary issues yet our liberal agenda did not seek this issue out and try and guard against this danger. They singled guns out, focussed on what they felt was an easy push for the public and made laws that in reality help to get them elected, but did not make us safer. We need to use schools to help identify who is in need of help.
My suggestion is religion classes. All religions can be offered or no religion, but moral expectations to live in this society without the religious content. Teacher, parents and clergy can teach these classes. Kids can study their religions or take classes in other religions, so that can be more understanding as our world shrinks.
The school can figure out who needs help and stop problems at the source not the symptom. It will probably never happen because the liberal agenda never wants anything to come between their propaganda and law. That is why religion was removed from public schools to begin with.
When guns are outlawed, I will be an outlaw. It’s a no brainer in my mind…
Obama wants to be Hitler. That is what he did, he took all guns away and nobody could defend themselves, that is why they could shoot anybody that didn’t do what they were told. I saw it and I was just a child.
Cry havoc
I agree I will not register my gun This is what happens when we elect a petty dictator and the opposition party does nothing to stop him because they are afraid of the repercussions. We better wake up and start electing real men and women that care about their country instead of caring about a career in Washington time is running out for this great Nation of ours
Our forefathers ,would be using their guns , by now .
Registration equals confiscation. Even the gun makers moved what does that tell you. Oh and standing up for your rights makes you a radical.
Restoring our government to run the way it was intended will take a large minded action, which I hate to say but everyone talks with no action. And if that sort of a thing were to happen they’d be deemed terrorist not Patriotic people.
As MY President Charleston Heston once said, FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS.
To quote from Wikipedia on the 1928 German Registration law: Furthermore, the law restricted ownership of firearms to “…persons whose trustworthiness is not in question and who can show a need for a (gun) permit.” Then in 1938, under Hitler, the Nazi police had everyones name and address that had applied for gun ownership, then this: “Some German police used the 1928 “trustworthiness” clause to disarm Jews on the basis “the Jewish population ‘cannot be regarded as trustworthy'”.[5]:676 On November 11, 1938, the Regulations Against Jews’ Possession of Weapons was promulgated by Minister of the Interior, Wilhelm Frick. The regulation prohibited Jews from possessing firearms, ammunition, and other weapons.”[5]:675
Every once in awhile, I hear or read a news story about somebody preventing a crime with a gun. Often without even shooting it. I’ll bet this happens a lot more often than we hear about. I believe the saying is true: “If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.”
A heck of a lot more, but facts about self defense do not support the Agenda.
US – Every year guns are used over 80 times more often to Protect a life than to Take one.
The reason this may eventually done in EVERY state is to the government can keep tabs on the people who are NOT criminals so they can take their firearms away from them at their discretion. The criminals will just thumb their noses at the government and keep on committing their heinous crimes. Obama is a control freak. When are people going to learn this and quit listening to his cockeyed ideas? He is a maniac!
I live in Oklahoma, there are enough arms and ammo in this state to start a war and gun registration would have a tough go here!
Keep all of your old car batteries. There’s enough led in these batteries to make a lot of ammunition.
The GOP won’t push this, only governors in the democrap party will push, we the people need to push back. Enough of this dictator crap, time to show we will resist, we have shown obummer, he does not care. Before 2016 he is going to try to pull off a coup, it’s coming, be prepared, lock and load, make every shot count, after all lead is a a metal that cost a hell of a lot.
Obama signed an executive order giving him the right to declare Marshall law any time he wants to.That is what is going to happen with all the protests that al sharpton is spreading across our great nation. That is why Sharpton has been to the white house 81 times.Wake Up People.
As a USMC Sniper there is not any doubt in my mind about the nature of the government’s future plan(s) regarding my country. Unfortunately, I have witnessed the sure degradation of my Constitution, my society, my homeland and now the very Government I have esteemed these past sixty-five years is collapsing this very day. My ptayer is every like minded person will prepare to restore and to save our Country!
Jimy fain
As a USMC
Thanks for your service to this country. I am not a veteran but you can damn well guarantee I will send some lead and hopefully my aim is true. This govt has become so corrupt and evil via the NWO elite they are planning a coup to remove our guns and constitution so they can establish the 4th Reich and total enslavement–history is repeating itself. Jade Helm is the first step in setting up eventual martial law and anyone that thinks it is just another random military exercise is a complete fool. They won’t be going away. In my opinion any foreign or UN soldier on US soil taking part in this debacle is an act of war and must be dealt with using extreme prejudice. Be aware though they will likely try to blend in with the civilian population. Get ready, hell is coming to breakfast.
A few years ago I did a port visit in Israel, while I was there I went on a tour of a historical site, also at the site was a group of Israeli school children. The first thing I noticed was that all the teachers and chaperones were carrying openly. Anyone that wanted to mess with these kids would have had to go through the teachers first. On another thought, Why has nobody ever invaded Switzerland? Every male citizen is REQUIRED to have a military rifle at home and maintain proficiency with that rifle. Our 2nd basically says the same thing.
I live in CANADA and we went through the gun registration, (Long guns) Government spent Millions of dollars and now years later the registry has been scrapped. The registration is still here for hand guns(and other “restricted” weapons) and doubt it will ever go away. When the economy is so bad why are they spending on a wasted time effort like gun control?
Thank you for pointing that out.
They want the money to go to making weapons to go to war. Remember 65% of the federal budget goes to the military and we are not even at war. ISIS doesn’t have an army, an air force or even a satellite in the sky. Why do we need warships or fighter jets when NORAD couldn’t even respond to 9/11 for just a few planes. All this spending of trillions of dollars is going on and we are still under threat from a bunch of guys with homemade bombs and rocks!
Susan, I hate to tell you this, but the Defense Department budget currently amounts to only 17% of Federal outlays. Not 65%. Between Clinton and Obama the Defense budget has dropped like a rock.
Susan, I agree with your comment, except that the amount of $ spent on the military. It is not 65%. The military only receives about 20-25% of the budget. The biggest taker of our money is SS and medicare/medicaid.
What bothers me is why should a law abiding citizen be concerned about registering their guns. They’re using them for hunting, target practice and competition. Forget about a home invasion where 99% of people wouldn’t be able to have access to their gun in ten seconds. Especially when you’ve just been instantly invaded. There will always be criminals who, for obvious reasons, won’t register their guns. What’s wrong with reducing the number of guns that a criminal could have access to?
Well Seth … think about this and maybe the answer will come to you about why registration of firearms is a danger to freedom
The government requires registration of our vehicles and we still have impaired and drunk drivers on the road . Peoples mind sets are the problem … not the item used that does the minds bidding.
If you really believe our government or any government only wants to know where weapons are …..consider pre world war I I Germany
First off, it won’t help the crime problem, as has been stated the lawless won’t register their guns because the guns they use for the most part are stolen. Second, it is none of the governments business what I own. This is the first step to confiscation and the government/s now knowing just where all the lawful guns are.
Pre World WAR II Germany, Stalin’s purge of older citizens in the Soviet Union, the slaughter on citizens in Cambodia, the list goes on………… need I say more?
One of the stories that didn’t get coverage here occurred the same time that the Connecticut killings took place; a school, in China, where the same actions and results took place. The difference inn the Chinese school was that the assailant used a knife.
The point is that removing guns doesn’t solve the problem. We need to spend time teaching our young people how to handle conflict and being “disrespected” as well as monitoring what they are watching on TV.
I’ve only purchased 1 new weapon in the last 15 years, that had to use the FFL Forms. Buy from individuals, people that need money, or what ever the case. Just make sure that they’re not HOT! I’ve had people to pawn there guns to me. I just do this to help my friends out. Not my fault they never came back to get them. My deals are a simple hand shake. Some have been really nice weapons, but I don’t really own any guns! The FFL weapon is my conceal carry. The U.N. is really pushing for the U.S. to do away with guns. They have managed to convince most all the other countries to do it. The U.S. is one of the only countries left to still have guns, but a handful of power hungry people are trying hard to get them. If Obama don’t, Hellary said she would. There is plenty of stupid people out there that will vote for her. Not for the right reasons, but she’s a woman. The black thing didn’t work, so lets try a woman. This is how weak minded people vote. There will never stop trying to take our guns, witch will turn into something real bad, that’s where the fema camps come in. They are real!! One was just finished just 25 miles from my house, on a old Army base, and already has armed guards posted there. Be WISE people, things are moving faster than U think. Obama is really stepping up his game plan. Total destruction of our once great country, and he never would sign the law, that Drones could not be used on American people. We have been set up by this President, the whole time. This is the ONE WORLD ORDER push.
It seems to me that these persons commenting are…..Survivors. Shoot straight my friends.
!
I agree. For better or worse, all FFL transactions go into a database. And NICS is NOT administered by people concerned about the Bill of Rights. It exists solely to ADD people to the ” prohibited persons ” database. And, rightly or wrongly; once there its no small thing to get out- VAF/ UPIN or not.
Recall all officials that passed that law. Have state-wide disobedience. Start changing the laws. Strengthen the State and Fed Constitution that no one else can mess with it. Imprison all officials that threaten our safety, lives, freedom, and security. Start being Americans and patriots again.
This sounds like an easy solution. However, I am sad to say, we are the minority. That is the people who have the sense to truly understand what is going on don’t have enough votes to overcome it. It is the majority of people who have been taught that they are “owed” everything they get and that the government is the big savior are the ones keeping any thing from changing. It is sad to realize this and makes it look like things are hopeless. Like minded people have got to band together for their own defense and truly believe that the government cannot be counted on for anything … good.
Passing laws that Americans cannot own something so they cannot commit a crime is the most ludicrous principle that has ever been introduced into this country. It has two main purposes. Of course it disarms the public and makes them easier to control. But the second one is that it is a smoke screen that hides the fact that our so called Justice System does not punish criminals . Why? Lawyers do not make more and more money with less and less crime. So what is going on? Use taxpayer money to buy the best machinery possible to catch the criminals. Then drag them through the system to milk them dry, give them a rap on the knuckles, (If that) and get them back on the streets where they can commit more crime to make the governments and lawyers more money. Someone said several thousand years ago that the love of money is the root of all evil.
I agree. Judges are Lawyers. Crime creates jobs. Jobs mean money. Money comes from taxpayers.
We hear so often “We have to stop the killing”. WE WHO? That could be an armed citizen at the right place at the right time.
We as a nation are in serious trouble.
Arm yourselves and stand up for your rights no matter what.
The big question is—- How do we the people regain control of the country?
The answer is this. Every state must figure out how to gain control of the representatives we send to Washington. State laws have to be passed that dictates what they can and cannot do. Have a second vote at the end of their term. If we vote their term was satisfactory they get a 10 million dollar bonus. If the vote is unsatisfactory, they get an execution. This way , only politicians that are serious about representing the will of the people of their state will run. If they do a bad job, they won’t run again.
I like your way of thinking! Though I think it must start with the governor of each state to gain control of his own state , and then start the process of creating a new government with the right laws and regulations to govern a new republic.
we have to be held to a higher standard than opposition
so when you use the Adolph Hitler quote please change it to the Weinmer Regime who put gun registration in place that Hitler later used to his advantage. In reality Hitler encouraged gun ownership it was only later that he changed the rules on ownership..
It’s Newtown not Newton. I attended Sandy Hook School and so did my kids. I will not be registering or giving up any of my guns in this lifetime! Gov. Malloy will hopefully be finished soon-get out and vote.
Massachusetts, via the Federal Government requires the licensed dealer selling to a licensed person not only to immediately do a background check on you but must fill out a form with all the gun’s info on it for the Federal Government. I’m sure the State can get access to that info, no need for additional laws.
I live in NY at present but would move directly back to TX and live in the desert if I had to. All my gun purchases were through FFL dealers, but it is simple enough to sign a statement saying that I sold them to private buyers. That is not illegal, or at least not any more so than the governments bypass of the 2nd Amendment. GA has some very lax gun laws too and is a good alternative. Reasonable rent rates in many localities. Consider all the options, take the best. But never give up your guns, yours and your family’s lives WILL depend on it someday!
move to Texas or michigun
Nothing trumps the Constitution of THESE United States
Nothing trumps the Constitution of the United States? Nothing but the UN Charter! That is what they will cram down our throats. People , mostly non Americans , will be begging to do so when the economy collapses and everyone is starving.
People in America, desperately NEED to learn the definition of, “Tragedy!” Sorry to say, Sandy Hook was NOT a tragedy. Get out the BIG Webster’s like the one at the BIG library. The definition is: a Murder of one individual, caught up in a, ‘love triangle,’ between 3 individuals ! One either finds our or is spurned and KILLS one of the other two or both, then sometimes themself, too ! A ‘TRAGEDY’ did happen in a school lunch room last week, when the Native American Boy, shot and killed his girlfriend and then his 1st Cousin and then himself, after she dropped him, to date his cousin. ALL of the other, MASS MURDERS, with a gun.., are just that, ‘Mass Murders’. Que lastima !
Jose’
14th amendment (which was never legally ratified) makes the constitution null and void. Don’t believe me? the prisons are full of innocent people-all criminals have a good lie for their sins, including the govt. Do I have a big AMEN?
nay, I would move to TX. immediately as the uhaul couldn’t get there quick enough. Lived there for 6 years, remember if you move there leave any left/liberal/socialist/marxist leanings where you came from otherwise why move.
Law abiding citizens should leave Connecticut along with their guns and let the rest take it’s course.
In NY, the AG just issued an opinion upholding all facets of the so-called Safe Act, stating that the states interest in promoting the safety of the people trumped second amendment rights. According to his interpretation of the second amendment, we have the right to protect our homes with handguns. That is not what the Constitution says, but that is his interpretation.
I live in the People’s Republic of California. We’ve been subject to this B.S. for decades and I don’t see it going away anytime soon. Learn from our misery.
Exactly. In many states, such as California, gun registration has been required for decades. That is why in states where there is no such registration, people need to fight to keep it that way. By default, in those states, there is Federal registration anyway (already) I believe. I bought my first handgun in 1989 (in California) and remember that every purchase of a gun from an FFL is recorded by the state DOJ. Every private party sale/transfer of a so-called legal firearm in the state also has the same requirements (must go through an FFL license holder who has to report that sale/transfer to the state DOJ). That is the state law, and it only affects law abiding gun owners/buyers; -those who are least likely or inclined to commit crimes with guns.
Law abiding citizens should leave Connecticut and let the rest take it’s course.
There is no way in hell that I would ever register any gun I own. It’s bad enough that I have bought several guns through FFL dealers. Unfortunately, I had a bad boating accident and all my guns were lost. I still have a BB gun that they can have. Thank God I live in Texas
What part of shall not infringe do these politicians not understand ? After all they took an oath to preserve, protect and defend the constitution and the second amendment is part of what they swore to preserve , protect and defend, and those that try to take any of those protections away should be immediately and uncerimoniously ejected from office.
Tom L. that is unconstitutional and I will NOT adhere to that law. Where do you live in one of those dummycrap states?
I have a gun that is not registered and will never be . I have it were I can get it if I need to and that is only if I need to . It is not in my home.
If this where to happen in my state, I would not register my weapons. Why? because that is not the true law of the land. That is the law of the agenda politician that does not understand the true implications of it all. I would say they are the most irrational, stupid and misguided individuals when it comes down to it all.
Seams like there would be a lot more not so ‘law abiding’. A bad guy would be less inclined to do bad when they just don’t know what a good guy will do. Most can be read as to what reaction would be. Don’t give them the edge, Train and keep fit and able to defend your self and your family. Reverse psychology is a great tool. Keep friends close by enemy’s closer.
They can have my guns when they pry my dead hands from them.
Maryland’s draconian firearms law is being challenged in the courts. After the successes of DC vs. Heller and McDonald vs. Chicago, this particular Communist/ NAZI preparation for confiscation will, hopefully, be scratched from the books soon. I hope there is a similar move made in Connecticut and all other states and localities where unconstitutional, illegal “gun control laws” have been implemented by naive or criminal politicians.
Jersey has been this way for generations!! First we need to submit a gun purchasing permit application with at least 3 character references signed by citizens who know you, other than family members. The local police chief, after a State Police background check, signs it in order for you to buy BB guns, shot guns, muzzle loaders, rifles and ammo for rifles of all calibers. For a hand gun we need to buy the gun and take the store receipt and hand gun permit application, again, to the police chief to approve before we can go back to the store and get the gun. Either way local law enforcement knows all about you and the guns you legally own!!
Yet Camden has one of the highest crime rates in the country, and a lot of those crimes are gun-related even though it’s one of the most monitored cities, using the latest audio and video technology.
