Recipe: The Ultimate Winter Weather Soup
Many of us have saved our survival food for natural disasters, or other events that would otherwise be considered an emergency.
While this is good preparation and thinking, we also encourage everyone to try out our recipes any time to see which you really enjoy (and stock up on!) and which you can mix and match to really make an outstanding meal.
A great example of this is from our friends Cat and Cory- who took their survival meal to the next level, and created the ultimate winter meal.
Cat & Cory’s Homestyle Soup:
- 1 pouch 4Patriots Potato Soup
- 1 pouch freeze-dried green beans
- 1 pouch freeze-dried corn
- 1 pouch freeze-dried broccoli florets
- 1 lb. bacon (or additional freeze-dried proteins)
- Chopped red bell pepper
- Chopped green bell pepper
- Chopped onion
- Spices (black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and seasoned salt) to taste
- Render bacon in soup pot until a combination of crunchy and chewy. It can be cooked fully, but we find that we like the consistency and taste of both.
- Add Potato Soup to the pot in its dry form. Don’t forget to remove the oxygen absorber packet when you do this. Mix well, and allow dry powder to mingle with the bacon fat.
- Add 4 cups water plus 1 1/2 cup water for the soup and the freeze-dried vegetables. Simmer until the soup is fully dissolved, then add the pouches of freeze-dried veggies. Again, please remember to remove the oxygen packets.
- Add spices to taste, and then add the bell peppers and onions. Blend well and bring to a low boil. Turn heat down to medium, simmer for about 10 minutes, then turn heat down to low and allow to simmer another 15 minutes or so. Turn heat off and allow soup to stand for about 5 minutes before serving.
Makes 8 – 12 servings of soup, depending on your appetite.

Like Cynthia Martin, I also am on a VERY tight budget (also on Disabilty!) and it really grieved me that I’m unable to have bought more Survival packages. They really look good. I really like that they’re also in “unmarked” boxes. Keeps nosy people out of them. (Maintenance crew in the cottages here.)
Thank you for this wonderful opportunity at such an awesome price!
Just ordered can’t wait to sample . Thank you
Unfortunately I am living on a very limited budget on disability so I cannot afford to order more food packages to store but I think it’s absolutely wonderful how you are helping Americans prepare for disasters at any time. This is a wonderful program God Bless you all

I am an original 4Patriots customer & critic. I made several purchases from 4Patriots when I initially purchased but in the last few years I have been unemployed. I recently found 2 jobs & am now busy building up my supplies again. I just got the free 72 hour kit & this recipe was included with purchase along with 4 digital books that I didn’t previously own from the 4Patriots library. This kit is going directly into my X-BOB, I am also going to be purchasing several other items from 4Patriots in the near future.
P.S. I can’t wait for Black Friday/Cyber Monday Sale……. :)
Keep up the great work & Thanks 4Patriots
my third purchase with this company.1st one was years ago with the purchase of their solar book. and now two different orders with their survival food packets. Recently i had a neighbor who had some Survival meals from another company, she had gotten about 3 years before. we decided to do a test on the two different company meals, before she moved to another state. Both were spaghetti type meals, and found we both agreed the ones i recently got from Patriot were better in taste and filling. I don’t know if it was because her ‘s were 3 years older or not. But the candy bar that came in her’s would certainly help me in a moment panic or crises.
thanks for the fantastic articles! Keep em coming! Only the Strong Survive…
Something is really strange with the weather. A couple months ago, no storm blew in from the coast, it was clear as a bell. But a few miles further inland there was a “micro-burst” that flooded one town in a matter of an hour, and dumped an inch of hail on the neighboring town, then it was done and the sun was out again.
