Should All Refugees Be Allowed Into the Country?
It’s difficult to imagine a worse plight than that of a refugee. To be driven from the country where you were born and raised because it has become too dangerous or because there is no longer enough food and clean water would be a terrible thing to experience.
And the catastrophe would be multiplied if you had children, grandchildren or elderly or disabled adults you needed to take with you. I can’t even imagine the amount of stress that refugees from countries such as Syria have to deal with on a daily basis.
All that a vast majority of refugees want to do is work hard to support their families and live peacefully. But through no fault of their own, they’ve been forced to cross their countries’ borders to try to find relief in the form of food, water, medicine and shelter.
Some people in the United States believe we should take in as many refugees as want to enter the country. They feel it’s the humane thing we can do. Others believe that our country is overcrowded and that we already have our share of poor and homeless who are not being properly cared for.
There is never a simple answer to a complex problem, but there are very clear warning signs that should make any rational person question government officials and others who believe the U.S. should take in tens of thousands of refugees from countries where people have been taught to hate America since the day they were born. And, of course, it’s not just here that people need to be concerned.
The German national security service is warning that Islamic State militants are infiltrating Europe by pretending to be asylum seekers. Not that they MIGHT be entering European countries while posing as refugees, but that they ARE doing it.
Hans-Georg Maassen of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution in Germany said they have “repeatedly” seen terrorists being smuggled into the country, disguised or camouflaged as refugees. German police arrested four men who are suspected of planning terror attacks in the country and having ISIS ties. At least one of the men had military training in Syria.
This might be a case of trying to close the barn door after the horses got out. It is estimated that more than 1 million asylum seekers entered Germany in 2015.
Here’s an idea that our government officials and other bleeding heart liberals might want to consider: Let’s keep our barn door closed and locked until we know exactly who is knocking on it.
Why don’t we just try enforcing our current laws? Proper and complete vetting are required.
We do not need to take in any more refugees in this country. We can barely take care of our citizens. Our veterans and homeless are going without medical care, shelter and food in many cases. We need to take care of our own people first. And I think that since radical Islam is the enemy we are fighting and most of the “refugees” are Islamic (some radical and they can’t all be vetted properly) we should not take any more Islamic people into our country. They are already radicalized in some cases or can easily become that way. They do not assimilate into our society well and do not want to. They want to abide by their Shariah law and so they should stay or go back to their own countries.
We have enough problems with our evil government that is trying to make our country into a third world country and doing a danged good job of it too! No more refugees until we are self-sustaining and out of debt (if that ever happens)!
The refugees here already are causing problems, killing and raping people and stealing from them. We do not need any more. In fact, weed out and deport all the radicals that are already here!
Angie, that is a little shot sighted of you to say this. I understand your concerns and most of them are spot on. However, To refuse refugees from entering into this country just because there are too many of them or that they a “Islamic people” is UNAMERICAN of YOU TO SAY!
You can’t paint everyone with the same ole paint brush. We need to be careful, we need to be concern, but, we need to be understanding and compassionate when letting refugees into this country.
I recall from personal family history that in 1900 (Irish), 1920 (Italian), 1937 (German Jews), 1956 (Korean), and 1974 (Cambodia and Vietnam) this country had opened its arms to let various refugees into this country. There were some people that were not to happy in letting them into this country but they got in and this country absorbed them and their cultures and became all the better for it.
So now it is the Islamic nation’s turn. Are we as American’s going to turn our backs on people in need? Are we going to let our fears get the better of us? I say hell no! Let them in. Give them a place to live, a job to work, give their children school learning, teach them what it is like to be free and to become American’s. Then watch this country become the better for it. Think about it; before telling someone in need “No. You’re not welcomed here. Go Away!”

First of all a refugee status is suppose to be temporary until the refugee can return to their native country. Bringing them to the US is more burdensome for all concerned emotionally, physically, and financially. If they come here thousands of miles away from their home family friends and jobs. They have no way to get back home. They need to go through the Immigration SEEKING ASYLUM status and be vetted. As in the past they (all of them– the good, the terrorist, and the criminals) end up staying here permanently at our expense.

We have laws for immigrants that state that if they are to be found to be criminals or terrorist then they will be deported back to their native country after serving their prison terms here in this country.
You can’t always separate the wheat from the chaff. But sooner or later the separation does get done and you are left with just the wheat.
This country was built on second chances.
Cliff A, Naïve Cliff…It’s been found that felon and criminal refugees have been living in government paid housing for years. And that’s only a small sample of what is wrong with this whole situation. Until a solid, foolproof solution is created, close the door. Unless you want to take responsibility for and have a few live in your spare bedroom. Then by all means go for it.
Immigrants decades ago had to prove they had work, had a sponsor, would not depend on government for support, had no diseases, and renounce allegiance to their native nation.
This is not required now although it should be required.

What we need to do Don is to enforce the laws that are already on the books. If an immigrant enters this country that we (this Country) doesn’t lose track of them. If and when found these immigrants are deported back to their county for failing to keep their whereabouts known, no excuses or reasons.

Dude, anybody will tell you that when in a strange place “out of your element” you will revert to what makes you feel comfortable. That is why states like Florida, Texas, Arizona, California, New Mexico, New York, Illinois and other states have a large Spanish speaking people. They speak Spanish because it is their first language. They feel comfortable talking to one another. A lot of them will never speak English. It is their values that they brought with them into this country. Should we deport them because people like you feel that they shouldn’t speak Spanish or bring their special values into this country?
We celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other holidays that started off as a group of people’s personal values. Should we all be deported then back to the countries that our forefathers came from? I’m sure that our native American’s would agree to that. But, when I say it like this, I hope you realize how ridiculous it really sounds – at lease I hope you do.
these so-called refugees (some are terrorists) are causing more harm than help within any of the counties they were dumped in, Belgium and other European countries have had a onslaught of rapes by these “peaceful refugees”, not counting the raping of small children within those counties; but let’s look at this from another view point … the young teenage girls (and boys) cannot enjoy a night on the town due to the fear that these neanderthals pose, they stay at home and NEVER depart their homes until the next morning, the local businesses suffer a great economy loss and in some cases are also forced to close for the night.. what i’m saying that that, that country suffers a great economical loss and the future might be that that country’s business will be greatly hindered in the near future and in the long run WE Americans might have to give that country some sort of financial aide to recover. where does that leave us at? with a greater economical problem than what we have.

in the days of old, the British military had a sure fire method of extracting Real information from muslims and the like, they would kill a pig in front of several muslims and have them watch the skinning of the animal; once skinned they would take the skin and wrap it around the muslim’s shoulders and back; when asked a question, the muslim would give you anything asked of him/her and it would be factual as they would not want the skin on their bodies and much less to die with the skin on their bodies.

Instead of “helping us first” how about helping everybody at the same time. Create a program to render aid to all that ask for it or needs it. Lets break down the walls and barriers and give everyone an even chance for “the American Dream.”
Do you know what works? If all jobs must be placed in the unemployment office of each city and state. There anyone and everyone has a fair chance of seeing what is available and fill out an application to apply for that job. It is really a Fantastic Idea.

You think your country is crowded? Try living here in Britain for a while! And it is getting worse daily. But are we prepare to see small children dying from starvation, drowning and cold? From a problem that we started? We are so busy protecting ourselves we have lost our humanity. Yes there are huge risks, yes many are economic migrants — but very few of your ancestors were fleeing persecution, they were mostly economic migrants. Can you blame these people for trying?
During WWII, US citizens of Japanese decent were placed in camps as a precaution. These were US CITIZENS, not foreign refugees of unknown background and intent. If our government ( in it’s infinite wisdom ) believes bringing these refugees into the US is such a wonderful idea, maybe they should be placed into camps in Washington DC (the White House lawn might be a good place ) until their background and intentions can be determined. After being cleared by whatever government agency handles this “clearing process”, they could then be released into the streets of our capitol where they could learn to become the best of law abiding American immigrants and begin on the path to citizenship. And if our government makes a mistake at least the damage will be limited to an unimportant / somewhat useless segment of the population.
Maybe this is why the Federal Government has FEMA camps. They would want to practice with these displaced refugees first before putting “US” in there too, on the job training.
We need to be smart and start looking out for the USA’s peoples’ need. If ANY potential immigrant does not have anything to offer us (example: occupation, skills, etc.) then we should not consider letting them in. Sounds cruel and tough, but many in those areas under siege have been that way for generations. It has just gotten much worse with ISIS moving in and our limp-spine president making it even worse for them.
If you can teach a chimp to operate a 100 million dollar rocket-ship; you can train a refugee a skill to live in this country. Lets use our heads and not run our mouths.

Imagine how many people one terrorist can kill and then ask yourself why is it that the majority of the asylum seekers are young males, who, by the way, can not be vetted? It would and is suicide by politician to let a single person that can not be vetted into the country.
I believe until our government is able to ensure the American People there are no ISLAMO-FASCIST TERRORISTS being allowed into our country. Until our government does legitimate vetting of incoming refugees, None should be allowed in. It is akin to allowing a known lethal pathogen into our country just to make certain people feel good about themselves, while endangering the general population.

The USA should not welcome any more “refugees” for several more years. We are broke! We can’t afford more debt! What good would it do more refugees, or citizens, if the country actually has a major economic breakdown? It’s like maxing out your credit cards and opening up more new ones to pay your expenses with, just because you buy too much stuff. Our “too much stuff” is trying to buy the world’s favor by our out-of-control spending and spending public money in order to reward our contributors or Obama’s multi-million dollar vacations.

Over 250 years ago the Colonials here were opposed. They did something about it. They took on the strongest military in the world. It was not easy but they won. Seems we have been fighting other people’s battles ever since. Yes I feel sorry for the refugees. And I am ashamed of and embarrassed for the idiot in the Whole House who caused it. But the time has come for others to fight their own battles. We have spent (borrowed) far too much money and shed too much blood in the Middle East and they still hate us. So no, No, NO to anymore refugees.
