Both the Supreme Court and South Carolina are written as “SC” in shorthand, but that’s where the similarity ends. The Supreme Court ruled that ObamaCare is constitutional, but South Carolina lawmakers are trying to make it a crime to implement ObamaCare in their state.
Their bill, called the Freedom of Health Care Protection Act, declares Obama’s legislation “null and void.” It was approved 65-39 in the South Carolina House and is now headed to the state Senate for committee review.
The South Carolina bill would prohibit state officials and employees from “enforcing or attempting to enforce such unconstitutional laws” and “establish criminal penalties and civil liability” for those who engage in activities that aid the implementation of ObamaCare.
When it comes down to a battle between the federal government and a state government, the feds will win just about every time. So, until ObamaCare is repealed on a national basis – and it might take a few years for its strongest supporters to realize what a train wreck it is – these types of bills probably won’t have any lasting effect. I disagree with your continual bashing of the Affordable Health Care Act. I now have choices rather than being stuck with a retiree healthcare plan, $800 a month, my cheap ins costs me $250. I see “most provision will not be implemented until 2014”. This is August 2106 as I respond to this and I’m left wondering just how old is this story. I suppose that this question might be answered in the long list of comments but I cannot take the time. I’m quite used to OLD stories being trotted out from time to time and it hurts the credibility of the site doing that.
I’m 62 and on disability. I was forced to take the Obama care because I live on a fixed income and can’t afford to pay for more insurance! I found out the hard way that the Obama care doesn’t cover crap! It will pay for my primary doctor, but any prescriptions he writes for me they usually don’t cover and it can take up to a week or more before I can get them to approve a prescription! No coverage for eye care or dental. I know because I have to pay out of pocket and had to make payment arrangements with my dentist just to get some much needed work done! I sure as hell never thought in a million years that after working ever since I was 17, that I would have to live below poverty level!!!!! Oh but let’s bring everybody and their dog into the country and put them in free housing, free medical, free food, free everything that I had to work my ass off for!!!
I don’t know where you are from but in California I have not had a prescription denied most prescriptions you can pick up on the way home from your appt.. Sounds like you just live in the wrong state. I have no share of cost.
It absolutely depends on th willingness of the state to accept affordable care. My insurance was excellent and affordable in 2015. Then Governor Scott refused ” Obamacare” and my insurance sky rocketed in co pay and thousands before it even kicks in. You are absolutely correct the quality of care depends on the politics of the state.

I’m 68, make about $50K a year, and have the VA for my healthcare; my wife is 52 and unemployed. We had our retirement stolen, tried to find something for her we could afford, and kept getting told that the cheaper plans weren’t compliant with the law, which doesn’t allow anyone to buy catastrophic care; then my wife broke her ankle a year ago, which required surgery. We’ve done the math over and over again, and with all the hospital costs plus insurance deductibles – and even with the hardship reduction (which we’ve heard will expire if we don’t pay the hospital) – it’s cheaper for us to pay the penalties and live with collection agencies, bad credit, and the possibility of filing bankruptcy. Who made Obama king and decided the rest of us no longer live in America?

I just had my taxes done,becuase I don’t have insurance I am being charged 267.00 penalty. some people say well its cheaper than insurance, I say kiss my ass, I would rather have health insurance. OBAMACARE is not affordable,and to make people hafto purchase insurance.My place of employment doesn’t offer health insurance,and I cant afford another 350.00 a month. Your do not have to pay the no insurance penalty. There is an exemption if you claim you can’t afford to buy the insurance. You don’t have to prove it, you just have to claim it.

I took my 93 year old mother with Parkinson’s dementia back to her native Scotland because she wanted to see her family whom she had not seen in 20 years; while in the hotel room she tripped and fell. They took her by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital, then in a couple of days moved her to Bridge View Nursing Home. At first, until they got her paperwork straightened out everything was ok, and I visited her every day. She qualified for socialized medicine because she was born in Dundee and had worked there as a teacher. I left her there thinking she would get good medical treatment as I had to return to my work in Arizona. A few months later I received documents from the Dundee City Council telling me they (the government) were going to court to remove me as guardian and that my Power of Attorney was useless in Scotland because they follow Scots Law. (Not English or European Laws, or American laws.)
I told the sheriff (judge) that I objected to the inhumane treatment of tying my mom to a chair, as this was not permitted in Arizona. They said because of a shortage of nurses they did not want her falling down, but they needed court approval for this. I protested vehemently but the court granted the government permission to allow the nurses to do this. Then I found out that the doctors had discontinued prescribing her a medication which was keeping her healthy because the nurses had complained they were “overworked and understaffed and were struggling to keep her from falling down.” They sedated her to keep her quiet. They refused to let her go to the neurologist (whom I spoke to) because “we don’t have transportation, so she will now be seen my nurse practitioners.” When they took her off Sinemet, a wonder drug, she became paralyzed. When I visited her three months ago, she could only speak in whispers and asked me to take her back to our house in Arizona. When I told staff that I was thinking of doing so, they no longer would permit me to see her and told me that if I did not leave immediately they would call the police on me as I was “aggressive.” I left and made a report to the police station that the nursing home was in violation of a court order which had not mentioned restricted visitations. I hired a lawyer for thousands of dollars; they all stuck together and I lost.
I wrote to the American Embassy in London telling them that two American citizens were not permitted to see one another and even prisoners had visitation rights. I am waiting a reply and I will visit her again this April. I can’t sleep at night for feeling guilty, and just the thought that she is being tortured has sent me in to a depression.

Admitting and talking about the problem is only the first step. I have begun to believe that so many of my brother and sister Americans have great difficulty getting past this step and moving toward a solution to this problem. Solution: 1) If you are not registered to vote and your state requires it, then register and vote. 2) Know who you are voting for. Take the time to learn about those running for election, don’t just trust what the media is reporting or political ads. I’m sure by now there are/is a website out there that will give a fair and reasonablly accurate report of each canidate. 3) If you are not pleased with the pool of canidates available, don’t write in “Micky Mouse, Goofy, etc…” Make the best slection you can this time and go and seek out a person whom you think will represent your interests and ask that person to consider running in the next election. Don’t waste time getting someone in an election is tough and takes a lot of time and work. 4) Write patitions (letters) with no less than 50 signitures to those that represent you. Groups of people carry a louder, stronger, heavier voice than a letter with only one or two signitures. Let it be clearly known to those that represent you that you and your community are watching them and what you expect from them. They are supposed to work for you. I plan (for myself) to seek out what it will take to form a political committee (not a new party) that will find and successfully list names of people who will actually represent the interests of the people they were elected to SERVE.
What is this world coming to??? How did we let it get so bad??? We saw the handwriting on the wall; yet we sat on our hands and did nothing about it. We blame everybody and everything; except the real culprits, – – – ourselves.
So what if South Carolina is striking out on their own. Are you aware that Obama Care has major problems in it; whereby, the insurance companies are starting to discriminate against those people that have life threatening diseases. These people really need to have insurance to defray the cost of treatment. What is our Federal Government doing about it? NOT A DAMN THING. This needs to be fixed, too.
Over 45 states have started to implement their own State Insurance Coverage. After all, insurance is nothing more than a gamble that I don’t get sick. I pay my$300.00 to $500.00 dollars a month for health insurance. If I need it then I am covered, or so I am lead to believed. My biggest question is this – – – “Why am I paying so much and getting so little in return?” Why is my doctor billing my insurance company $500.00 just for an office visit. Yea, I pay my co-payment of $20.00. So that is $520.00 my doctor gets. What does my state get? The use of my money free of charge. They can syphon off this cash cow and fund their special projects on the pretense that they only wanted to borrow the money and will pay it back. I AM OUTRAGED! You should too. Lets bring these costs back down to Earth shall we? Tell the insurance companies, the drug companies, the doctors, and Obama Care that we are not playing their games anymore. There is nothing wrong in making a profit; but to gauge the people so that only a few can get wealthy and the rest go without is not the American Dream I know of.

My Mother was euthanized at the Chelsea Westminster Hospital in London UK. She was 81, had a stroke, and was denied medical care. She lay in bed for 5 days without food and water, no IV drip, until she expired! She was heavily sedated, so recovery was impossible. This is called “Liverpool Care Pathway”. Death Panel British style coming to the USA compliments Ovomit!
Socialized Medicine in the UK is deplorable. The “civilised” overly fluoridated British should be ashamed of themselves, and shall be accountable to God.

I had some tests run on July 30, 2014, for which the charges totaled $1,522.46. Medicare approved that amount … and paid $85.78. The doctor’s are getting accused of getting rich off these payments … not so.
perhaps the prescription for those who turn 76 will be to give them a bullet to solve their own problem. being one who turns 76 in one more month, I can’t help but wonder if that will salve the conscience if I don’t die before I need any Help. Larry is right. There are a lot of Federal employees in office that have exempted themselves from Obama Care. What is good got the goose, should also be good for the gander.
I suggest that “all the people” including our Federal employees become subjects to Obama Care. Why should I provide them with free healthcare when the rest of us have Obama Care? For those that served in our military; can go to the Veterans Hospital. That is free for our Veterans, after all.

Please don’t lump all Federal workers into the political employees in office . As a retired federal civil servant (27+years) I elected to keep my health coverage into retirement . For my wife and I we pay $580 and change per month . The government pays near $600. We used to have a flat $4 co pay on subscriptions . Then the Bush admin comes along . Now we are required to pay sometimes 50% of a med . An example is an inhaler . Both my wife and I need an inhaler it costs us $40.00 each time we refill one . Before Obamacare we were notified that our cost would now be $800.00 and change per month . Obamacare went into law an the monthly cost went back to $580 . I once lived in an area with a lot of Migrant farm workers . They were not given free anything . Even their transportation to and from the fields , they had to pay $5 a day . They got most of the harvest jobs because the non Hispanics would not take a job where they had to work in the conditions in late summer . During the 14 months I lived there I saw how the migrants worked . They didn’t sit and bitch, then go down and pick up their welfare checks . How many of you would work in 100 degree weather from can see to can’t see for $3.00 an hour I am not fond of Hispanics. But I give credit where credit is due .

Impeachment is easy! The house could impeach the president any time they like. But that is the same as a district attorney bringing charges. The trial takes place in the senate by rules the senate imposes. The trial of Clinton was a sham! The house was not allowed to present any witnesses. So the exercise would be a media blowout for the republicans.
This is why getting rid of DINGY HARRY and his majority in the Senate is so important this time around. It will isolate the Inquisition being conducted from the White House and not give anyone in the Senate “cover” when they vote-it will finally make ALL THE SENATORS including the RINOS accountable to their constituents!

The gov’t has been forcing us to do things for a hell of a lot more years than Obama has been in office.
How fast can you legally drive? Do you stop at red lights? Those are just the easy items to point out, there are a heck of a lot more of them.
And the I.R.S. (which I hate) doesn’t set the tax rates. They summit a suggested rates and laws but it is Congress and the Senate that SET the rates and make the laws.
Obamacare violates the commerce clause of the Constitution which prohibits forced sale of goods/services people don’t want. Originally, we were told that Obamacare was not a tax, but SCOTUS determined that it was, in fact, a tax which allowed them to say the law was constitutional.

We in the UK pay for healthcare for the rest of our country because we were a christian country and believed that the last thing people should have to worry about when they get sick was how to pay for it. We were taught that we were our brothers keeper and therefore, people over in the UK do not complain about paying to help others. I find Americans self centered generally about who they will share with……lots of bragging about all the money that goes to other countries but when it comes to helping their neighbours by helping to pay for their healthcare they scream. As far as I can tell after living in both USA and the UK I would conclude that insurance companies are the same in both places: greedy and the service is better in the UK for being diagnosed and treated like a person under stress because of sickness rather than another customer who has to prove a way to pay before being given care. I say lets get on with socialized medicine and quit monkeying around with at least 50 choices of which insurance to take this year and stressing over trying to second guess what might go wrong with you over the next year in the hopes you can PAY for it. Perhaps States should step up and come up with something for their State to seriously help the healthcare situation. Doing a program on a state level would perhaps make things more manageable. The other thing is to get the pharamaceutical companies under real control. They get away with murder in my opinion on what they charge and what they are allowed to pass off as help to sick people. I know this is a ramble but I get rather tired of people knocking so called socialized medicine when they have never lived any other place than the USA or experienced seeing a doctor in the USA and also in another country with so called socialized medicine….

Well you really don’t know us at all. We have no problem taking care of others and we do it willingly. What we don’t agree with is an overgrown government that forces us to purchase insurance at an outrageous rate and pay for items that are not needed. I understand you willingness to go along with your government demands, you surrendered any ability to defend yourself. We are not willing to become a nanny state that provides for those that can and I mean can work but refuse to and live off the backs of hard working Americans. I have chatted with SEVERAL people from the UK, ( they still live there) and they desperately are in need of better care. They have a rare blood disease( hereditary Angioedema) & either the place they live doesn’t have the meds they need, but it would be covered of they did, so they must move but don’t exactly know where, or are restricted to what type of meds they can have access to. Mainly they run into not having access at all. It seems rare diseases are not covered and they will NOT get the meds in they desperately need. It’s not quite the utopia you represent. And how much are those taxes, and how often and for what items? Our taxes may be very different as well.
As a nation, we ALREADY were paying for the very poor & elderly ( medicaid, medicare) to go to the hospital, drs, and get presriptions. We also have programs for the young, pregnant, adoptions, etc. But ACA has now shut many of them down, or caused a lot of them to NOT be able to help them anymore because of religious affiliations, rare diseases, expensive and/or chronic disease care, it is shutting out life sustaining care for elderly and switching to “palliative” or pain management only. My 73 yr mother was at her drs. and he took,her off a med she had been on for years. He told her it would “only prolong her life” as if she was not allowed to do that anymore! She is very active and very vital! But without her meds. I see her slowing down faster than I like.
ACA IS a death sentence for anyone that isn’t young and healthy! And anyone that IS, it will just COST them everyone they know…And way too much of their earnings. They won’t understand how much it REALLY costs…until they get sick or old, or have someone they love get sick or old….then they will KNOW.

My son, a dentist had to discontinue insurance for his employees because of the cost, he told them it would have to be their insurance or somebody’s job. As for me, I had a high deductible policy from Anthem for $245 a month, they offered to let me keep the same conditions with an new policy for $265 or I could try the healthcare website, well, the cheapest on their list was $599 a month or I could apply for assistance. I spent 2 hours trying to fill out the paperwork for that and gave up. They even wanted to know if I had a grave plot, and if I lived in it! Needless to say I took Anthems offer, which is only good for 1 year.
My wife has health insurance only because I can piggy back her onto my pension because she has a pre-existing co0ndition. Because of the ACA we will be saving between $2,000 to $4000 per year. Most of the people commenting here negatively have no idea what they are talking about. For everyone who may have to pay more, about 20 will be better off.

I found out the other day, when I contacted my insurance company, that my premiums will almost double next year. So don’t you dare tell me I don’t know what I am talking about. I have a pre-existing condition, you healthy people only think about yourselves, what about the ones who have horrendous health and aren’t able to afford the current insurances or are outright not given the option because of the pre-existing conditions. I like obamacare and its helped me and thousands(propbably hundreds of) more just like me. As for yourselves, quite being so damn selfish, you have your health afterall!
I have hereditary angioedema. I was doing MUCH better BEFORE ACA!!!! Now ACA wants to regulate how medicine I, and others with my disease, can have. They actually tell us how many attacks we can have each month…like its something we can control. We can’t. They NEVER did this before ACA. So now, people CAN’T treat all of their attacks. Left untreated we have a mortality rate of 40%. We can die within 5-10 minutes with no warning, if we cannot treat, and sometimes the attack,is so bad, it requires multiple treatments. So how are we to exist with 2 acute treatments a month? We simply won’t. That is the point. They know this. We are rare. We are sick. We are expensive. Trifecta of governmental don’t care. Before ACA I had access to any acute med I needed, in whatever dosage, or amount I needed. Now that has completely changed. On top of that, in spite of the supposed no pre conditions clause, yes the insurance has to accept me, but they DON’T have to cover my medication! So what is the point of the clause? As soon as they hear my condition, they tell me that my meds will NOT be covered. It is BECAUSE of ACA that allows this. Now, I have been told by my pharmasist, that Medicare is starting to not even cover basic thyroid, for ANYONE. I also have hashimotos disease of the thyroid. I must take a supplement. My Dr stated that I will be DEAD in a year without one. Thyroid is important to many people, and now most of the elderly that need it, will be paying full price for it.
Don’t tell me about people with special conditions NOT understanding ACA. I understand VERY well. It is literally killing some of my friends!

I read these comments in total disbelief. I am one of the only people who has probably taken the time to read all 2409 pages of the Obamacare (ACA) bill. Let us talk facts here. There is no mention of any death panels, or seniors or children being priced out of healthcare or dropped. And people are not getting laid off from their jobs because of OBAMACARE!!! For Christ sake people….if you want to talk about the healthcare bill than lets talk facts. Fact is, healthcare rates have always increased each year on the anniversary date. My insurance increased every year, but the coverage decreased. This is no longer going to be an issue with Obamacare. When I stopped my United Healthcare 2 years ago, I was paying $1,043.00 per month for me and my husband. We never even met our yearly deductible. I went for 2 years without coverage until 3 weeks ago when my husband and I signed up for obamacare. We have more coverage than we have ever had before, and with my husband having cancer, we are both covered for a mere $347 per month!! Yes…you read those numbers correctly. I am saving almost $700 per month now. Insurance companies do nothing but print lists each year of everything they won’t cover. You could list all the items they will cover on 1 square of toilet paper. So for all of you naysayers….get off your butts and read the entire 2409 pages of the bill. Then lets have this open forum where the comments can be honest, real and intelligent!! I’m sick of people spewing crap about the ACA when they don’t know anything about it other than what someone else had told them (who by the way has also not taken time to read the bill). Get educated people!!!

Ma’am I also read the whole health care bill and obviously you do not know how to read or process what you are reading. There will be a panel established to delegate treatment for serious medical treatments. They call it a death panel because this administration will appoint the panel members. They will appoint all liberals who most of whom support euthanasia and will give preferential treatment to fellow liberals. So basically If you are elderly, sickor a conservative who knows how to think fot themselves you are as good as dead. So they use the term death panel. Also mu stepfather who has no ptr existing conditions just watched his healthcare expenses from obama care just double and my neighbors almost tripled! I have known 1 person out of hundreds who hae benefited from this. My benefits through my job got worse because of Obama care. I work for the government and because we had what Obama deems to be the Cadillac of healthcare they had to give us deductibles( which we never had), increase our copay a over 3 times what they were, and we pay almost double out of pocket our monthly healthcare deduction from out paychecks. They had to do this because they couldn’t raise taxes to pay the fees for this and the end of the year. Plus my father cannot afford health insurance. He pays the bills when he gets sick. What happened to freedom in this country? He should be forced to so anything. Apparently you cannot realize that this is the governments attempt to control all people by controlling their healthcare. I am going to suggest something to you though. Since you took time out to read the entire 2409 pages of the Bill then you won’t mind reading something much shorter. The book I recommend is “Rules for Radicals” by Saul Alinski. This is Obama’s playbook, which he is following precisely.
You see, Obama and his minions fully expect the present law to be a total boondoggle. Once the public is fed up with it they will come forward with a solution; one they’ve wanted all along. The solution will be a One Payer – One Sponsor Plan. Who’s the One – the government, of course.

For all of those “no nothing” voters out there who voted TWICE on the Hope and Change rhetoric I would recommend you to do your homework on who is running for office BEFORE you vote. If you can’t see by now that Obama is immersed in the Saul Alinsky doctrine, then you are not doing enough research on your own (not media info). For example look at Obama’s selection of “Czars” in his first term: Van Jones, a devoted socialist, comes to mind. Thankfully, many patriots published Jones’ past comments on video which incriminated him to a point that he had to resign. The list is too long, but all can be found and researched with facts. The USA is under attack by the George Soros “left” and is well funded. George Soros has admitted and even bragged about bringing down many other Nation States’ governments. What he didn’t count on is that the U.S. is not organized like other countries. We have individual States (i.e. South Carolina) that by Constitutional design makes any attempt to bring down the entire Country very difficult. We have (at least for now) the right to bear arms. This fact alone puts fear in the hearts of any entity that seeks to overthrow our Government. Law abiding gun owners who would willingly defend our country are an incredible force to be reckoned with. Not by revolution, but their realization that we operate first by “Peace through Strength”, but have the inherent power to oppose tyranny by force if necessary. This is an amazing deterrent. Another event that derailed Obama and Soros was the mid-term elections in 2010 that put the Republicans in charge of the House of Representatives. The same will happen in 2014. Our way of life and the ability of the “patriotic majority” to rise up and squash any attempt to fundamentally change it is the cornerstone of our republic democracy.
I know insurance does help many people. However, we shouldn’t be forced to buy it. That’s a paid protection racket and unconstitutional (buy insurance or else). What you’re paying for insurance is more than I pay per month for all my medical expenses right now and I can’t afford more. Forcing me to get insurance will mean no groceries for my household. So, I’m happy for you, but for many of us this is not a good thing. As for the death panels, it won’t say it in those words but sugar coated jargon of “decision makers”.

I’m sorry to hear about your husband’s condition, and I’m glad because of Obamacare that you’re able to get coverage you couldn’t get before. Unfortunately what you fail to realize is that even though you don’t have to pay for that extra almost $700 a month, the rest of us are having to make up the cost and be penalized for YOUR problem. Is that fair that I don’t have any health issues, don’t need insurance, don’t want it, because it’s MY RIGHT TO CHOOSE NOT TO HAVE IT, that I have to pay for YOUR medical care? YOUR problem should be YOUR responsibility, and I should not have to be FORCED to take on YOUR responsibility. I have my own problems to deal with without having to deal with yours too. You’re the one who needs to get educated, and talk to the people who have to take the brunt of the impact of this dictatorship. I hope you enjoy your medical care at the expense of everyone else.

Perhaps had our representatives READ THE BILL before they voted on it, we would not be in this mess. The fact you are saving money on insurance is great, great for you. But the majority of folks are having to pay more and loosing the insurance they were told they could keep. If the world revolved around one person this would be an ideal bill. But even the Administration has agreed when it’s completely implemented those who still need insurance the most may not be insured. As for Death Panels, you need to do your research. The democrats have already admitted that there will be govt. boards who decide these issues, not doctors. And I hate to wake you up to reality, but people are getting laid off from their jobs due to the effects of Obamacare. Companies are having to cut staff or turn full time employees to part time and it is all directly related to Obamacare.

It’s great you are saving $700 per month, but what do you say to the youth of today that didn’t pay anything because they chose not to have insurance and now are FORCED, yes FORCED to pay as much as $700 a month so you can lower your bill. You say that’s fair, I say it is as close to a dictatorship country as you can get. If it continues it may someday FORCE you to do something you may not like but someone else will benefit from your entrapment. Remember what goes around comes around.
Kathyfixit, For one Maybe no one has lost their job from AHCA, However, Every part time employee lost their insurance @ Home Depot, because of the act and they all had their work hours cut to 29 or less no more 32 hr work weeks. Because the company would have to give them full time benefits. In all this would have put the company in the red and not be able to make a profit. So that would leave to jobs cut or cost to Sky rocket….think about it. What is Free enterprise and Capitalism?? there is nothing about government in either of those two systems… so be it.

Did you read the part about how if you have two or more chronic diseases ( remember, chronic disease, can be as little as hypothyroidism) that the Dr, government, hospital, CAN override YOUR personal rights and decide that it is more efficient to treat you in a nursing home? At that time you are in their custody, and they can do whatever they like with your “care”, including changing all your life prolonging meds to pain management only? No matter what you think or want, it doesn’t matter, it won’t be up to you anymore.

Do you know what is unconstitutional ? The affordable care act had become the law of the land., it pass the congress, the senate , the supreme court and the executive branch ( the President ) the Affordable care act is constitutional.
It was ruled constitutional of passed as a tax bill. The Affordable Care Act was never put through the Constitutional process and voted on as a tax bill. It should be challenged on that basis. This ACA has still not met the requirement to be implemented as a law and should be stopped until it is presented as a tax bill, voted on and approved as a tax bill by the Congress and Senate then signed into law by the President as a tax increase bill!!! It would not stand a chance in hell of being passed if required to go through the Constitutional process like every other tax increase bill!!! What a scam and a con perpetrated on this nation!

The Insurance Companies Know what the risks are , when they sign you up and charge you accordingly. Just like in Las Vegas, the ‘House’ always has the edge.

A simple correction to your thinking. Insurance is not gambling. Gambling is when you create a risk by your wager. With insurance the risk already exists. A person just transfers the risk from himself to the insurance carrier. I hate paying premiums as much as the other guy, but let’s be objective in our opinions.

In Indiana thousands of health care workers have lost there jobs already due to this at first I couldn’t understand when this bill was not in effect yet, but they knew it was coming. You can research all these recent layoffs by the thousands and still more to come. The poor, and thousands of children on medicare just got letters saying they were being cut since this bill going into effect,this is from a letter shown: ” Effective January 1, 2014, Due to the availability of New Federal Programs to help pay for health insurance the income standard has been lowered to a 100% to the Federal PovertyLevel (FPL).” FPL for family of 4 is 23,550 per year. Can you imagine trying to pay for mandatory health care or penalties on that income. What I have seen is most policies are around $400 a month for a single person. Employers have already booted employees out of insurance (its there chance to shave off insurance cost) and told the employees they can opt back in but its at a higher premium. Insurance companies are seeing $$$$$$, wow mandatory insurance. They are running with lobbyist checks in there hands right now. At first I thought it was a good Idea but when it is coming time for it America just got worse off, the program to save them will put them in the drain.

My insurance has gone up about$300 a month. I drive a school bus and I now bring home $73 a month. It cost me out of my pocket to drive the bus. I have to drive 15 miles one way to go get on my bus. Obama I as lying dog!
We were able to bypass community rating this year by changing renewal until December. He tells me that he is hearing next year increases in rates of up to 60%. Not sure how we’ll cover out employees at that rate.

I was stationed in Europe for 6 years and saw firsthand the results of socialized (government-run) healthcare. You wait all day to see a doctor and chances are he is not very good, because there is no incentive to be good (prices are fixed, he gets paid the same regardless of results). The good doctors from all over the world come here because they get paid better.
Another result is that taxes are astronomical in Europe (to pay for all of the socialized programs) so tax fraud is rampant over there. Which is one reason why the EU is having so many problems.
You ask for a plan to replace Obamacare? Here is the plan: purchase healthcare insurance for your family on your own. Make it a priority, over the video games and SUV’s and i-pads and smartphones with unlimited data plans that you think you can’t live without. I see an awful lot of people who consider themselves unable to afford healthcare, but are sporting the latest iPhone and drive a gas guzzling SUV.
I too lived in Europe and saw two systems, the gov. system and the public hospitals were pure crap, long waits to get poor care if you got anything at all.
The other system was good but paid for you you or a private health insurance which the pretender is destroying .
